What Is The D.I.G Challenge?

The D.I.G. Raleigh Challenge is a 6-week challenge that encourages community collaboration by featuring premier fitness, nutrition, health, and lifestyle partners offering a focused local experience in the Raleigh community.

Throughout the challenge, teams and individuals will earn discounts to local restaurants and businesses. All participants will also receive extra points for attending validated fitness classes at various local gyms and wellness workshops introducing them to local health and wellness professionals and a network of like-minded people.

Together, as a community of fitness trainers, health and wellness professionals, healthy food and drink purveyors and local athletic retailers we can work towards providing a fun city-wide challenge that includes fitness, social engagements, wellness education, and community connections.

Our goal is to mobilize individuals and businesses to promote healthy people and healthy communities who can then work together to educate, motivate and provide opportunity for creating a culture of physical, mental and social health.

Our core belief: The promotion of healthy behaviors and disease prevention along with increased awareness of the importance of self-care, can lead to higher quality of life and increased productivity. Healthy individuals create a healthy community.

By strengthening partnerships between local nonprofit organizations, hospitals and municipal recreation and park systems, we are able to improve the community’s health and well-being. Living healthy is more than just nutrition and fitness principles. It’s about designing an active lifestyle and then putting it into practice. The easiest way to do this is by associating with individuals who have similar goals and coaches who can keep things fun and engaging.

A portion of our proceeds will be donated to the
Sports and Fitness Program of the Boys and Girls Club
